Actress-model-writer-producer is not just a multifaceted title...its an earned badge for Dierdra McDowell!

She was born in Brooklyn, New York...with Panamanian roots! Being the first American born in her family, they often joked about her "celebrity status". Little did they know the power behind this choice of words! She was raised alone by her mother who always instilled a sense value in her by giving her the best of everything. Dierdra's mother worked overtime hours just to be able to afford a private school tuition for  her for 8 years! When Dierdra was seven years old, her mother took her one evening to a ballet performance at Lincoln Center. As they sat and enjoyed the show from the balcony Dierdra asked..."but Mom, how do I get down there?!!”  And by “down there” she wasn’t talking about front row seats...she was talking about the stage! The next day her mother signed her up for ballet classes!

Dierdra McDowell  worked for years as an actress and model before deciding to take her creative skills to the next level.  While working as an actress on several movie and television sets, she was also paying close attention to everything that went on behind the scenes and studying the mechanisms of everyone involved in production.

She was inspired to write and create Love Always, Eartha from an undying passion she developed toward Eartha Kitt, after reading all of  Miss Kitt's autobiographies and memoirs in preparation for a one woman show (About Eartha Kitt).

As an actress, she has numerous appearances in both feature length and short films...such as playing the ex-wife of Oscar nominated actor Willem Dafoe in the sci-fi movie, 4:44 Last Day On Earth. She has also been spotted in several films at the Tribecca Film Festival. In addition,  she certainly isn’t a stranger to the commercial world. Dierdra  is proud to claim appearances in commercials for Time Warner Cable, Pearle Vision, Home Depot, Spray and Wash,Wii, and Allegra D to name a few. In the soap opera arena, she has worked alongside the infamous Susan Lucci, (Erica Kane) on  “ALL MY CHILDREN”. With all of this firsthand knowledge and information, Dierdra began forming the idea of writing and producing her own films someday.

In 2010, Dierdra McDowell, along with her husband Chris McDowell founded Eden Entertainment, a multifaceted film production company. Their mission is to create and produce high quality short and feature length films and documentaries, as well as to provide video production services for the industry. To date, Eden Entertainment has successfully produced over 11 short films, 6 music videos, 3 webisodes, and a host of documentaries!

Dierdra remains happy living in Brooklyn NY with her husband and two children! Their home remains alive and full of love and creative energy... as they continue pursuing dreams with passion!
