Santoya Fields discovered a hidden passion for acting "by accident" when a friend recommended the craft as a path towards personal development. Working in television production by day, she began attending classes at Susan Batson Studio at night. As a production coordinator she took advantage of being on set by seizing any opportunity to step in front of the camera. Since committing to a career in the arts full-time, she has done live performances, film, and commercial work. As an actor her goal is to work in theatre and film, other goals include singing, writing, and becoming a certified life coach "to help others find their true passion". She lives in Brooklyn, NY and continues to study at the Marishka Phillips Preparatory Theatre and with Opera Singer Lina Tetriani at the Brooklyn Music School.Santoya was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida. There she attended performing arts middle and high schools for Ballet and Modern dance. She moved to New York in 2003 when she received a full scholarship to the Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre. Actors that inspire Santoya include Viola Davis, and Meryl Streep, as well as Angela Bassett who is also from St. Petersburg, Florida.
